This page describes honestly how Cycle 99 articles are produced, so you can judge how much weight to give them.
AI assistance
We use AI tools to help research, outline and draft articles. AI-written text is never published as-is on trust: it goes through the checks below, and we do not describe AI-assisted work as personal experience, hands-on testing or expert credentials we do not have.
What we check
- Sources. Specifications, standards, torque values, error codes and procedures should come from manufacturer documentation, recognized standards or other authoritative sources. If a figure varies by model, the article says so and points you to the manufacturer rather than guessing.
- Independent review. Articles are reviewed by a separate pass from the one that drafted them, checking accuracy, safety, completeness and whether the article duplicates another on the site.
- No invented evidence. We do not publish made-up test results, statistics, quotes or reviews.
Safety-critical topics
Articles on brakes, structural parts, wheels and steering, e-bike batteries, chargers and electrical systems are held to a higher standard. We do not publish instructions for opening or modifying battery packs, bypassing a battery management system, using a non-matching charger, or defeating legal speed limits. Where a task is risky, the article says when to stop and take the bike to a professional. Such articles are held back until a person has reviewed them.
Keeping content current
Buying advice, prices and regulations change quickly and are reviewed more often than timeless mechanics. When we find an article is wrong or outdated we update, merge or remove it. See the Corrections Policy.
